An Update

I debuted my blog on Facebook the other day - One Night Only! The top story, "Two Weddings and a Funeral". I didn't realize how many people view my FB until I posted the salacious story. And that's only the people who have talked to me about it... I get more responses each day!

I feel bad about posting the story to FB, but I don't regret it. I got what I wanted. My cousin has moved her day.

I wish I didn't have to post the story, but I was left with no choice. I had already sent my cousin an email asking her kindly to reconsider the day - no response. I asked my mother multiple times to call her cousin (my cuz's father) to tell him how I felt about it all. I told some other family members to try to relay a message.

No one did anything. And everyone in my immediate family thought that it could be left alone and the whole situation would blow over. Something like this just doesn't blow over, so I did what I felt was the only thing I could do. Post my blog to FB.

The next morning after the posting, my mom called me. She gently persuaded me to take it down, I did.. I thought one night was enough, especially since my aunt in CA called my mother in the early AM to discuss it... yikes! My mom told me that the wedding was never a wedding and it was a miscommunication. It was to be a birthday/engagement party. Ok.. I'm not sure I buy the "miscommunication" part, but if that's what the deal is.. then.. I can live with that.

I got a text last night from my mom. My cuz is now planning her wedding for August 27/28 in NYC. One month before. Ok.. I can live with that... I wonder if there are any venues still open for that date.. *evil smile*.

The moral of the story is: Don't post anything to FB that you don't want the whole world to see.. or do.. it might work in your favor.
